I dunno how many of my watchers know, but yes, I dabble in other crafts from time to time. Cospalying (read: sewing
cosplays) included. ~3~ Heaven forbid
But this year it's not for me, it's for my sister, ~lilsnowbear
. She's also the one modelling the full outfit (save for the hoodie as described) since the thing was tailored to fit her. She's off at her first real con (Sakuracon 2012!) right now actually...
Did anyone see her today in this costume, assuming you've got internet to see this and be at the con at the same time? hurrr
Worry not, there is hope. She's cosplaying another outfit tomorrow, which I'm posting next.
I'm posting these photo-dumps of the outfits since I spent about two months of sweat and creative effort on it, and I thought I'd show you guys the result of all those hours slaving away at the sewing machine QuQ;;
Things I learned:
- don't give in to using the hot glue gun if you want it to look quality
- DON'T GIVE IN DAMMIT
- I need to learn how to hem things better. At least it looks decent in the photos. ~~~~/o/
- Bee is a slacker
Q: But bee, WHY DIDN'T YOU GO TO SAKURACON TOO? OMG
A: because I'd have to get up and leave my room.
also she was going with her friend's family and it'd be awkward. maybe next time when it's on my terms. /control freak
cosplay jargon made by me, with creative assistance from my mom and mandy of course. We make a mean clever team if I do say so myself!
Other cosplay: ~please wait~PS: If you do go lurk her gallery, please, for the love of my blood pressure- don't tell her her art looks like mine and she should be proud or whatnot. I think it's much more individual than just a shadow of my style, even if she takes it as a compliment. ok? ok. /raging sibling
