Gift - Mom's Birthday 2012

Today's my mum's birthday, so I drew this for her. She's gonna frame it next to my sister's in the living-room, hee.

I sketched this up for mother's day actually, but totally bombed on getting it done on time. Started coloring it with pencil lineart and wasn't sure if I liked it as much as I would with colored ink lineart, so I spent all of today light-boxing it and then coloring it. My hand nearly gave up the ghost on me by the time I got to the leaves, LOL

Done on paper with just about every brand of colored pencil imaginable. Seriously. I have a shoebox....

I'm really proud of it, really, despite all the little booboos. I haven't color-penciled in some time, so it was nice. Loved how the big flowers came out. Oh, it's supposed to be gardenias and jasmine... which are kinda the same thing, apparently...? Maybe they're cousins.

I was gonna put this in a nature category because the animal to flower ratio is like... 1:alltheflowersever. But they only have a landscape section... so idk!
