Mona is: + Friendly, charming, happy- Wanting to see the best of life + Kind but firm, very worldly and down-to-earth- Can be quite the leader + Secretly a hopeless romantic, with her own stash of sappy (but well written!!) novels. - Not immune to the judgmental looks and comments of others. - Can only tolerate so much of settling for less and compromising. - Easily stressed out or frustrated, sometimes short tempered, but bottles it all up
You want to stick around? (chuckle) Okay then, keep me company.
(┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻ ┻━┻ /DOUBLE TABLEFLIP OF JOY AND I'M DONE. I'M SO DONE. FINALLY. DAYS BEFORE THE NEW YEAR. /collapses into a pile I didn't have a clue why mine took so long, but looking back on Ty's side, I realize I probably cluttered mine together twice as much with drawings and more text. Muhbad. I'm proud to say Mona's flavor text changed the most from her first version- for the better, as well. She's become more confident and focused in just the time between my Side A drawing and now, when she started out so gentle and angelic. Which I suppose you could say she is... Sometimes. Alas, I do feel bad to report that this Meet Me bio is really only Mona oriented. I have not designed any of her side characters, antags or otherwise... u///u; So you just get a lot of Mona looking pretty. Not too pleased with that, but I assure you, when the time comes, she will get all the fleshing out she needs.
She is definitely my favourite chary because I can relate o her on a certain level,I envy her, even. She's beautiful and despite being big (like myself) she loves herself. She also knows when to ignore the twig porcelain bitches (UNlike me)
I love this character! Despite being big, she's very beautiful and fashionable! Normally, I like to draw skinny characters... (SHAME ON YOU! //slaps self) But the introduction of Mona had made me appreciate body types and more.
And YES. Fashion industry is sometimes... "EVIL" for advertizing super skinny women...
Atta girl, Mona! Ignore those bitches! I bet they don't have enough calories to support their own health. (OOOOH! BURN!)
I used to also exclusively draw skinny characters as well, so this was a really good opportunity to explore more body diversity
And I definitely wanted her in fashion BECAUSE of the skinny-only (or "curvy only") sort of attitude they have about fashion.
And as an aside, she's just beautiful- you don't have to say 'despite' (her weight) I totally get that's not what you meant to say, it's hard for me to unlearn dialogue like that even now too. Just remember it for later!
Thank you very much! I bought a little name book I keep around, but you can google baby names too! I like babynames.com, babynamesworld.com, thinkbabynames.com, 20000-names.com for starters ! The rest is narrowing down your search and making a list of favorites. Or if you ever see or hear a name you like, write it down for safe keeping later somewhere. Hope it helps!
I have to say that Mona is one of my favorite characters of yours so far. She reminds me alot of my own character Courtney because they are both insecure about their bodies, very friendly, and oppstimistic.
OK SO I'M A YEAR LATE TO THE MONA PARTY BUT IT'S OKAY she's beautiful and fabulous and just nnnggggkk monaaaaaa~~~ love love love how you draw her body though, especially the side view <3 also I totally thought she was taller for some reason but she's a cutie being a little shorter ;u;
AWW IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO HIT UP THE MONAPARTY LAC DON'T WORRY ADFGHNBGV God but this dump is really quite dated, I'm a bit embarrassed- the way I've drawn curves improves drastically ahhh but I do love drawing her sooo much asdfghjn/// She's average height, 5'5"-5'6" but if you add heels it could be a bit taller! (oh gosh do you use CM in Australia? omg forgive me)
OMG I READ THAT AS NEVER TOO LATE TO SHIT UP WHOA okay done embarrassing myself also argh yes you've leveled up beautifully with curves + Mona in general it's really impressive!! Even so this is still super nice to check out because it is impossible to have a Mona overload and just pretty pretty everywhere and idk but you do a fab job with her ;u; (also Bee dear I can measure in cm or inches I'm multi-metric-measurable or some shit like thatdon't be silly ;u; )
YAY MONA! ok emotional time! whoo whoo! so i'm a little smaller than mona, but still a sizable lady, 44-36-44. and i love the way i look. i'm curvelicious! and my boyfriend likes the way i look too. but i work at a mall (at journey's kidz! yay shoes!) and sometimes society and all their expectations get to me. this week was one of those weeks. i was talking to my boy about it: me: 'whine, i feel all big and .....big' him: 'naaa, you hott, and you have the breasts of a goddess.' me: 'awwws thanks, but i don't think it's working today, i still don't feel very pretty.' him: 'why don't you go read that comic with those lesbian chicks! that always makes you feel better.' me: 'it's not a comic...yet. but yeah! that does always make me feel better. each of them have different body types and they are all awesome and it's so cool.' *fangirling* so yeah, the whole project is like all surrounded by acceptance and stuff and it's really encouraging! so thanks.
also, mona, when you graduate from fashion school, could you make a line of plus size clothes that actually look good. all the plus size lines i've ever come across look like they were designed for 50 year old women who are desperately trying to cover themselves up. and i am NOT a fan! i end up making or re-doing half my clothes! (*psst* also cute bras! no more of this beige crap! i want some f**king polka dots!)
Oh. my goodness. Forgive my late reply but oh my gosh. I don't know what to say, I'm so... that story made me smile. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to know that our project, even in it's blooming stages, still brings you reassurance and positivity. It just totally makes my day and I can't help but smile when I work on Mona because of that.
Mona's dream is TOTALLY legitimately to make a line of plus sized clothes. Omg. Like no seriously. She makes her own clothes more often than not, or has to hem or alter clothes she finds. She's so glad she can, but other girls like her may not be so seamstress inclined! More cute bras, check! *giggle* Thank you!
I'mma just love this forever, mm'kay?? Seriously though, Mona is just so freaking amazing. TRUE FACT. I can really see a lot of myself in her. 'Cept she's like a prettier version of me. >____> PffffffffLOL! *runs off to steal Mona's pretty clothes* >:3
Awesome, Mona's sheet is done! And I'm certainly not complaining about the lack of other characters, leaves more room for Mona to shine. Secret hopeless romantic? Bless 'er. I like the idea of the friendly eternal optimist, even in the face of society's judgements, but one who's far from a pushover; she sounds like she's got steel in her spine, and who could blame her for getting frustrated in a world that tells her to be different? Especially the world of fashion, which seems to have such rigid notions of beauty.
The more you reveal of these characters, with or without any details about their story, the more deeply fascinated I am and the more excited I get to read their chapters You and Ty are doing an amazing job of drumming interest in your stories, keep up the good work!
